That's all well and good, but awfully heavily weighted toward the recent toys (only 1 pre-1975, which tells you what I mean by recent, and 5 1991 and later).

My own favorite-ever-as-a-kid was the Lionel train set that my brother and I got in 1956 or 1957...I often wish I still had it...

My favorite of all time toy was also a model railroad set, only mine was American Flyer. That morning, waking up and finding the train set up in a circle around the tree, may have been the best Christmas of all. As for the toys on the list I didn't want any of them, not for a second. Bah.

I must be a terrible parent because in the 23 years I've been one I have never stood in long lines for trendy toys.

The Marx Fort Apache playset was a big seller every Xmas for over 20 years. Of those listed, I think we got a Tickle Me Elmo for Kristine, but a year after the madness subsided.
