It'll be interesting to see whether the book is any good...

I remain unconvinced, and don't plan on reading this unless it gets breathlessly good reviews from trusted (by me) reviewers. Seems like just another star-writes-book, big-name-sells-book thing. I don't care how many stories he read on airplanes going to and fro.

I've read some of the other things--non-fiction--that he has written, and they were pretty good--well-organized, clear, cogent. So I'd be inclined to think that, with help, he could do a decent job. Alternatively, the real author might be Anna Waterhouse. whose (limited credits that I can find) appear to be as a writer of movie and TV scripts.

I saw him on American Movie Classics one time, talking about The Maltese Falcon, and he was more enthusiastic and animated than any time I saw him talking about basketball. I don't know if the book will be good be he's a legitimate fan of crime fiction.
