My problem with fountain pens (and cartridge pens--remember them?) was that I always pressed too hard, even before I had ever used a ball point pen. I ruined more pens--and school compositions--that way.

Just to show you have old I am, I did have a fountain pen. Can't remember what kind but I think I got it for my bar mitzvah. I do remember the hassle in filling it and ruining at least one shirt when it leaked in my pocket.

No, I do NOT miss those old days.

I have several fountain pens, but I never use them. Only one of them is functional.
