One of my friends was appalled to discover her then-teenaged children could not tell time by an analog clock--and then she realized every clock they'd ever seen was digital. It's an interesting thought: what do you see in your mind when the digital clock reads 3:45 if you have no analog clock (big hand 9, little hand between 3 and 4) to conceptualize it.

Deb--Isaac Asimov wrote a Black Widower's story that hinges on the difference between digital and analog clocks...
