Damn. I had not heard about Clark Howard. Like Ed, he was a master of the short story. Howard's nonfiction crime books were consistently enthralling and well-done.

I hate 2016.

Damn and double damn. I remember him at a Bouchercon. One of the great mystery short story writers EVER, much like Ed Gorman. This just sucks big time.

I remember reading with pleasure his many stories in the mystery digests.

For years, I looked for Howard's stories in EQMM, knowing that I would like all of them. He stopped appearing a few years ago and I suspected he might be ill.

BTW, I believe it was Ed Gorman who wrote a very enthusiastic review of Howard's Dark City which prompted me to read that excellent book.

Altough I nevet met either of these fine writers, I will miss them.

Sorry, that should be Hard City and "nevet" should be "never".
